Sessions..
The first session involves discussing and identifying the main issues of concern and some initial therapy planning. We then work together to identify the most appropriate goals and strategies and subsequent sessions include discussion of relevant issues, thoughts, feelings, reactions, skill development, relaxation training and useful educational information about the issue.
Confidentiality..
All personal information gathered during the provision of the psychological service will remain confidential. This information may include your contact details, session notes, assessment material, treatment plan and information from other health professionals (obtained with your consent). No information will be released to others except if:
It is subpoenaed by a court, or
Failure to disclose the information would place you or another person at risk; or
Your prior approval has been obtained to:
- provide a written report to another professional or agency (e.g., GP or a lawyer); or
- discuss the material with another person (e.g. a parent or employer)
Cancellations..
- If for some reason you need to cancel or postpone an appointment, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required.
- You may be charged for the session if you do not give at least 24 hours notice when cancelling the appointment.
- Non-attendance of appointment with no notification: Your therapist will contact you by phone in order to re-schedule the appointment or determine whether therapy is still required.
