The Finer Things

The Finer Things is a dynamic way to meet people while embracing new adventures and activities around Brisbane.

Join this 8 week program to discover more about yourself. Learn more about how you operate and how this relates to making new friends.

Each week takes you on a fresh and exciting recreational journey. Learn new social skills while having fun with new friends. Try different local activities that have been pre-arranged and booked by our talented coordinators. Increase your social circle from acquaintances to partnerships.

The Finer Things

Assessment and Profiling

The Finer Things team includes highly trained experienced psychologists who are dedicated to maximizing your social success.

Three comprehensive psychological tools will be administered during one-on-one coaching sessions. The assessments will explore your:-

  • Personality type (highlighting helpful & unhelpful traits)
  • Relationship attachment style (outlining what you seek and need in relationships)
  • Life Values (describing what is truly meaningful to you)

Once all relevant information is gathered, you will receive personalised coaching in the areas you need it most whether you struggle with finding the right kind of friends or perhaps you have trust issues that prevent close bonds from forming. Whatever the barrier we will provide you with the knowledge and skills to move forward towards a more fulfilling and loving future.

The Finer Things

Getting Started

Before commencing the exciting range of social activities, you will have a couple of sessions with one of our trained psychologists. During this time the assessments will be conducted and a clear, easy-to-understand Personal Profile will be generated. This will enable you and your psychologist to openly discuss what needs to happen so that you can make lasting friendships. All information will be shared in a constructive, supportive and completely non-judgmental way. Our goal is to build your confidence and skills so that meeting people is a pleasurable, rewarding experience.

You will be able to ask any questions and share your thoughts during the initial assessment sessions so that you will be ready and excited about the programs activities that lay ahead.

Ongoing Coaching, Counselling & Support

Throughout the course you will have the opportunity to meet with a psychologist to receive guidance and feedback. Two personal sessions will be allocated where you can discuss how you are finding the experience. Suggestions will be made about how you can further develop your social skills to enable the most enriching relationship with others. These sessions are completely confidential and designed to help you reach your potential.

Additional sessions are always available upon request.

About the Facilitator

At every outing you will be accompanied by our trained Social Facilitator. Her role will be to co-ordinate the event so that it runs smoothly. She will be there when everybody arrives for the meet and greet aspect of the event ensuring that it’s relaxed and not at all awkward. She will create some ice breakers so that people feel at ease with one another right from the start. She will be a familiar face chatting with everyone encouraging the flow of conversation as everyone gets to know each other better. Essentially the Facilitators job is to make sure that everybody is enjoying themselves, each other and having a laugh while participating in new sociable opportunities about town.
